Objective
This project focuses on creating a complete visual identity for an original restaurant concept. The goal was to build a cohesive brand that communicates the restaurant’s personality, atmosphere, values, and target audience through different design elements. From the logo and typography to the menu and other brand materials. The final identity is meant to feel like a realistic, market-ready restaurant brand that is memorable and approachable.
Restaurant Identity: Rhythm & Roux
Rhythm & Roux is a modern, accessible New Orleans-inspired restaurant concept celebrating local food, music, and art. The brand combines colorful graphics, vintage typography, and jazz-inspired elements to create a casual, welcoming, and community-focused atmosphere.
Conceptualization
Research focused on exploring authenticity, boldness, and community, using these qualities to shape the visual direction and capture the vibrant spirit of New Orleans culture while still focusing on accessibility.
Sketching
The logo sketches explored different ways to combine the personality of New Orleans with the restaurant’s welcoming atmosphere. I experimented with incorporating New Orleans inspired elements into the lettering and symbol. The sketches helped me explore different shapes, compositions, and ways to make the logo feel bold, playful, and connected to the culture.
Digital Iterations
Digital iterations refined the strongest ideas from the initial sketches, exploring different type treatments, layouts, and trumpet-inspired details. I tested various combinations to create a logo that felt bold, authentic, and connected to the energy of New Orleans while remaining simple and recognizable.
Final Design
The final logo brings together the bold, playful, and musical qualities of New Orleans culture. The custom typography and trumpet-inspired details create a distinctive identity while keeping the design simple, approachable, and easy to recognize. The final design reflects the energetic and welcoming personality of Rhythm & Roux.
Final Branding
3D Trumpet Render
Since music is an important part of the restaurant’s identity, creating the trumpet in Cinema 4D allowed me to bring that idea into a three-dimensional form.
